Africa Health Research Institute is looking for an energic, well coordinated Research study coordinator who will be based in the Durban Research Campus.

The AHRI Research Study Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the management, coordination and execution of functions related to the implementation and monitoring of TB, HIV and COVID-19 research projects in the KZN region.
Minimum Qualifications1. Post Graduate qualification in a Health or Social Science discipline

Minimum Experience

1. Minimum of 2- 3 years’ experience in a clinical research setting of which 2 years’ experience should be coordinating research studies

Skills Required

1. Must possess a valid South African Code B Driver’s License and own vehicle
2. Good verbal and written communication skills in English;
3. Accuracy and precision;
4. Must be able to work under pressure;
5. Social perceptiveness – Being aware of others’ reactions and understanding why they react as they do;
6. Creative, can take initiative, can solve problems;
7. Active listening – Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate and not interrupting at inappropriate times;
8. Must be organized, possess the ability to prioritise, take initiative and commit to the completion of each assigned project;
9. Ability to work under pressure and to deal with a large number of staff from different backgrounds and with different requirements;
10. Time Management – Managing ones’ own time and the time of others;
11. Ability to plan and organise work and meet deadlines;
12. Systematic, careful and compliant as well as be dependable, persistent, communicative and friendly;
