What you'll do
- Manage customer experience and engagement
- Front end team people leadership, development, management and administration
- Oversee admin, reporting and monitoring of stock-takes, expense management and control, cash refunds, under charging - front end security, cash controls, Fidelity and related tasks
- Management, maintenance and monitoring: front end systems, procedures and policies, financial budgets, loss control, store HR admin support and general compliance, risk mitigations, and related activities including RAM and grant payments
- Perform financial stocktake preparation, planning and execution
- Support month-end and other periodic close off periods: billings and statements, financial reporting, stock holding etc. and other adhoc requests
- Represent the store during internal and external audits and escalate other formal and informal legal processes
- Monitor performance and checks of leases loaded reconciliations; calculation and allocations of rates; and insurance and other recoveries
- Front end housekeeping and compliance with health & safety, food safety and supermarket operational company policy and procedures
- WFM editing and scheduling of front-end and receiving to ensure operational standards are met whilst simultaneously ensuring effective cost management
- Ensure training and onboarding of new cashiers is completed correctly and efficiently
What you bring
- Grade 12 (Essential)
- Retail Management diploma or equivalent (Desirable)
- Two years supervisory experience in a retail environment with exposure to the Supermarket procedures
- Driver's Licence
- Computer Literate - MS Office Intermediate/Advacnced, Supermarket systems and technologies
Knowledge and understanding of:
- Store operations management, POS and payment, cash and banking handling, promotional planning, merchandising, stock handling
- Financial management and reporting - sales target, profitability and budget planning & control
- Government regulations and compliance - Food Safety & hygiene OHSA, POPI, RI CA, CPA, Labour relations legislation and procedures
