The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas:
- Manage and maintain the managers’ diaries, including arranging appointments and travel in liaison with the relevant personnel.
- Ensure that all submissions are made to the correct committees by the relevant deadlines (e.g. submissions to the Governors’ Executive Committee).
- Receive, screen and respond to incoming telephone calls, using own initiative to address queries or route calls to the appropriate people.
- Prepare and edit correspondence, communications, presentations and other documents, and conduct basic research and analysis where necessary.
- Ensure that all incoming and outgoing correspondence, whether electronic or otherwise, is registered and filed in accordance with the SARB File Plan.
- Create and maintain a contact database for the managers’ offices and a filing system in accordance with the SARB File Plan.
- Collate and coordinate project-related and other information.
- Review operating practices in the area of responsibility and implement improvements where necessary.
- Perform day-to-day duties ethically and maintain absolute confidentiality in all matters relating to the managers’ offices.
- Serve on relevant divisional, departmental or SARB project teams, based on experience, skills and ability.
- Perform any other tasks as instructed by the managers, as required.
Qualifications
- a National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) and a secretarial diploma, or a relevant post-matric qualification;
- at least six to eight years’ experience in a corporate personal assistant or equivalent environment, including experience in supporting executives; and
- a bachelor’s degree would be an advantage
