The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas:
- Provide input into strategic and operational scorecards as it pertains to regulatory finance for the Prudential Authority (PA).
- Implement Chapter 16 and other financial provisions of the Financial Sector Regulation Act 9 of 2017.
- Consult on and propose levies in accordance with the Financial Sector and Deposit Insurance Levies Act 11 of 2022.
- Consult internally and externally each year on the Chapter 16 budget, two-year expenditure forecast and budget explanatory note.
- Develop conceptual and formal submissions for tabling at the SARB and PA executive governance structures.
- Drive and manage the regulatory public consultation process on the regulatory finance proposals with industry and provide the prudential regulator’s feedback for governance purposes.
- Facilitate the tabling of the PA regulatory and operational budget, two-year expenditure forecast, budget explanatory note and comprehensive summary of the public consultation process at the PA and SARB governance structures.
- Develop the PA’s regulatory submission to Parliament and National Treasury for tabling in Parliament.
- Analyse and understand the business environment to contribute meaningfully to an optimised PA funding model and its continued sustainability.
- Calculate, consolidate, validate, maintain and report on the levies, fees and relevant regulatory progress to the relevant PA governance structures.
- Monitor, control and report legislative and regulatory changes in the prudential regulation sector relating to levies and fees charged to supervised financial institutions.
- Engage the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA) on levies and fees as well as collaborate on data-sharing.
- Manage the performance and development of the team
Qualifications
The following would be an advantage:
- a certified and professional financial registration; and
- registration as a Chartered Accountant.
